SPIRIT DIVE
Spirit Dive is an exploration of finding faded wildness from my childhood. Through fragmental dreams and supernatural experiences, I dived into the dreams from my childhood and rediscovered my imaginative and wild essence. It is an invitation for audiences to reflect on their own nostalgic dreams and aspirations, encouraging them to embrace the untamed essence that resides within their own hearts.

Spirit Dive Trailer
Incorporating 3D motion digital art and virtual production, Spirit Dive is a visual film about finding the desert rose god and the faded identity of the artist in fragmental dreams, combining art-based explorations in organic, raw aesthetics through a futuristic design lens. Throughout the filmmaking process, I utilized 3D scanning, MetaHuman, and UE5 to construct the characters and scenes, and accomplish the rendering work.
The symbol of flowers, which appears throughout the film, holds a significance as it draws inspiration from my father's cherished plant, the desert rose. This recurring symbol connects the duality of the main character and the desert rose god, encapsulating the essence of breaking free from societal constraints and embracing an untamed, unrefined state of being. Having grown up with a father who cultivated a little garden of desert roses, I found that the plant's appearance varied based on the cultural preferences of different regions. The experience of seeing the different-looking desert roses in their natural habitat on the Socotra Islands deeply amazed me, evoking memories of wildness and imagination from childhood that had faded with age. This inspired me to create a film of me finding the inner wildness in my imagination and multiple dreams.
